Search the books section of Google Play by title, author or topic in keyword. Each book has its ID, author, format, category, rating, price with currency, cover and description. Choose the store with country and the language with language. One page of up to 40 books, with no paging.

Price $0.56 per 1,000 requests ($0.000556 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.

AI prompt

Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Google Play Books endpoint (google_play/books).

How the endpoint works:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to google_play and action to books, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
  - keyword: What to look for in Google Play Books: a title, an author or a topic, such as stoicism.
- Optional parameters:
  - country: Selects the Google Play storefront country or region using a lowercase code such as us. The default is us.
  - language: Selects the language used for Play Store content and review queries, such as en or zh. The default is en. It does not change country automatically or guarantee that every returned review was written in that language.
  - limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 40. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values are accepted and capped at the maximum. (default: 20)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: book_id, title, author, url, format, category, rating, rating_scale, price, currency, cover_url, description.
- Example request body:
{
  "platform": "google_play",
  "action": "books",
  "params": {
    "keyword": "notes"
  }
}
- Price: $0.56 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.

Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.

Request parameters

NameInTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
AuthorizationheaderstringYes-Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository.
platformbodystringYesgoogle_playPlatform identifier, fixed value.
actionbodystringYesbooksCapability identifier, fixed value.
keywordbody.paramsstringYes-What to look for in Google Play Books: a title, an author or a topic, such as stoicism.
countrybody.paramsstringNo-Selects the Google Play storefront country or region using a lowercase code such as us. The default is us. For search and profile it changes the storefront being queried, not the user's phone region or the developer's nationality. For reviews it does not change which reviews come back: reviews vary only with language, so us and gb return the same reviews for the same language. To compare reviews across markets, change language, not only country.
languagebody.paramsstringNo-Selects the language used for Play Store content and review queries, such as en or zh. The default is en. It does not change country automatically or guarantee that every returned review was written in that language.

Response fields

Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.

FieldMeaning
book_idKeeps the platform's own meaning
titleTitle. null when the platform has no titles (for example text-only posts).
authorKeeps the platform's own meaning
urlLink to the record on the platform.
formatKeeps the platform's own meaning
categoryCategory name in the platform's own taxonomy, not normalized across platforms.
ratingRating. The scale varies by platform: rating_scale on the same row gives the maximum (usually 5; Booking, Douban, iQIYI and NAVER use 10). Convert with rating_scale before comparing across platforms, or the comparison can come out backwards.
rating_scaleMaximum of rating in the same row: 5 for five-star scales, 10 for ten-point scales. Present only when the row has a rating.
pricePrice as a number without a currency symbol; see currency.
currencyCurrency code of the price (for example CNY, USD). If price is present but currency is null, do not assume a currency.
cover_urlKeeps the platform's own meaning
descriptionSummary or description, usually shorter than text.
platformSource platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok).
