Read the top-level comments on a Toutiao article or video, 20 per page. Each comment has text, likes, reply count, time, the commenter's name, avatar, verification and IP region, and whether the author liked it. Pass an article or video link or its numeric ID, and page with next_page_token. Replies themselves are not returned; reply_count tells you how many there are.
Price $0.81 per 1,000 requests ($0.000806 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Toutiao Comments endpoint (toutiao/comments).
How the endpoint works:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to toutiao and action to comments, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- url: A Toutiao article or video link (https://www.toutiao.com/article/<ID>/ or https://www.toutiao.com/video/<ID>/; older /i<ID>/, /a<ID>/ and /item/<ID>/ links also work), or the numeric ID in it.
- Optional parameters:
- page_token: Page token for comments: pass back the previous response's next_page_token to get the next page; leave it out to start at the first. Keep url the same as on the call that returned the token.
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: id, text, like_count, reply_count, posted_at, author_id (The author's MS4w profile token (video,…), author_name, author_avatar_url (The commenter's avatar link (comments)), author_verified (Whether the author is verified), author_auth_info (Verification description, such as a fie…), ip_location (The commenter's IP region as Toutiao di…), liked_by_author (Whether the article's or video's author…).
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "toutiao",
"action": "comments",
"params": {
"url": "https://www.toutiao.com/article/7450114952884503059/"
}
}
- Price: $0.81 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters

}Response fields
Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
id | The record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms. |
text | Body text with HTML removed, returned in full and never cut short (on a few platforms the list results themselves carry only an excerpt; the platform's field notes say so). |
like_count | Likes. null means the platform or this capability does not disclose it; it is not 0. |
reply_count | Replies, usually replies to a comment. null means not disclosed. |
posted_at | Publish time in ISO 8601, UTC (for example 2026-08-07T12:34:56+00:00). Non-standard strings from the platform are passed through as is, so parse defensively. null means the platform does not disclose it. |
author_id | The author's MS4w profile token (video, landscape videos only); pass it as user_id to profile or user_posts. |
author_name | Author's display name. |
author_avatar_url | The commenter's avatar link (comments); on video, the author's. |
author_verified | Whether the author is verified; on comments, the commenter. |
author_auth_info | Verification description, such as a field creator; on comments, the commenter's, such as an official account. Absent when there is none. |
ip_location | The commenter's IP region as Toutiao displays it, usually a province (comments). |
liked_by_author | Whether the article's or video's author liked this comment (comments). |
platform | Source platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok). |
