Find places on DuckDuckGo Maps for a keyword around a required map center. Get about 20 places with Apple Maps ID, category, address, coordinates, phone, website, Yelp rating and review count, price level, weekly hours and a few review excerpts.
Price $0.56 per 1,000 requests ($0.000556 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra DuckDuckGo Maps Search endpoint (duckduckgo_maps/search).
How the endpoint works:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to duckduckgo_maps and action to search, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- keyword: What to look for on the map, a place name or category such as coffee or museum.
- latitude: The latitude of the map center, from -90 to 90. Required; results are the places in about one screen around it.
- longitude: The longitude of the map center, from -180 to 180. Required.
- Optional parameters:
- limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 50. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 20)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: rank, name, apple_maps_id (Numeric Apple Maps ID of the place), yelp_id (The place's Yelp business alias), category, address, city, country_code, timezone, lat, lng, phone; 23 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=duckduckgo_maps.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "duckduckgo_maps",
"action": "search",
"params": {
"keyword": "coffee",
"latitude": 40.7128,
"longitude": -74.006
}
}
- Price: $0.56 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters

- DuckDuckGo Help: Maps Come from Apple ↗
DuckDuckGo's help page says it works with several information sources for its search, with maps coming from Apple. The source confirms only that DuckDuckGo Maps uses Apple's map data, which is why rows carry an Apple Maps ID; this API's `keyword` searches place names or categories around the given map center, and the source says nothing about result counts, rating sources or opening-hours fields.
