RedNote Share of Voice Every Monday: A Claude Weekly Report for Singapore and Malaysia Brands

One page of RedNote data put OldTown at 11.1%, 68.8% or 0.9% share of voice. See 14 real API calls, sponsored-note splits and a $0.27 weekly cost.

Isometric illustration. On the left, a tropical waterfront city with palm trees and white towers. Blank square cards with small heart and bookmark icons float from the city to a weekly planner board on the right. The board has seven columns. In front of the planner stand three stacks of cards of different heights, and the tallest stack has one teal card on top. Next to it, a balance scale holds cards with small ribbons on one pan and plain cards on the other. The scene shows brand posts that come back every week and get split into sponsored and organic posts.

On November 8, 2026, between 00:14 and 00:23 Singapore time, we made 14 real calls to the EveryInfra RedNote (Xiaohongshu) API. One page of results for the category term "Malaysian white coffee" gave OldTown White Coffee a share of voice of 11.1%, 68.8% or 0.9%. The only difference was the method that assigns a post to a brand, and whether we removed sponsored posts.

On the OldTown brand term, 6 of the top 7 posts by likes were sponsored, and they held 90.3% of all engagement on that page. On the top post for the Singapore brand Charles & Keith, 21 of 23 fan comments asked for the price or for stock. The creator replied to all 21, but 19 replies were the same two-character phrase, and no reply gave a price. This article is for Singapore and Malaysia brands and their agencies. It shows how to use Claude projects, scheduled tasks and a remote MCP connector to build a Monday report that avoids these traps. The API cost is about $0.27 a week at catalog price.

Isometric illustration. A round sieve sits on a grey table, and a pile of blank square post cards falls into it from above. Cards with small teal ribbons, which stand for sponsored posts, slide into a tray on the left. Cards that are copies of each other slide into a tray on the right. Only the plain cards pass through the mesh and fall into a teal box under the table.
What a share-of-voice report must do first: remove sponsored posts and copies, then count the organic posts that remain.

Who reads this report: Singapore and Malaysia brands that sell to China

The reader is a brand manager or an agency in Singapore or Malaysia. The brand sells food, accessories, snacks or health products to Chinese visitors and to consumers in mainland China. The team has no data analyst in China and no access to the paid back office of the platform.

Every Monday, somebody must answer three questions for the boss. How often did people mention us on RedNote this week? How do we compare with our competitors? What do people say about us?

Government statistics show why this question matters. Mainland China is the largest source market for Singapore. On February 3, 2026, the Singapore Tourism Board reported 3.1 million visitors from mainland China in 2025 (STB media release). In the first nine months of 2025, these visitors spent S$3.68 billion.

Travel rules make these trips easy. Singapore and China have a mutual visa exemption since February 9, 2024 (ICA announcement). The China-Malaysia agreement took effect on July 17, 2025 (Chinese Embassy in Malaysia FAQ).

Visitors search RedNote for tips before the trip. After the trip, they post photos of the gifts that they bought. Both kinds of posts are share of voice for a local brand.

RedNote also has local users. An agency article in Inside Retail Asia on October 12, 2026 cites a Malay Mail report (Inside Retail Asia). By that report, RedNote counted more than 2.5 million Malaysian users in 2023. The main point of the article is that people use RedNote like a search engine and ask questions in the comments. Our comment data below puts a number on that point. On one top post, more than 90% of the comments are questions, and the creator moves almost all answers out of public view.

A weekly view gives you early warnings. You see when a competitor starts to buy sponsored posts or when a new brand appears under your category term. You also see when many people ask the same question in the comments.

One week of real data: what 14 calls showed

Before we built anything, we pulled one week of real data. We wanted to know how to calculate each number and where the numbers can go wrong. All calls ran in the early hours of November 8, 2026. Each call costs $0.005556 in the catalog (EveryInfra RedNote catalog).

We used two Singapore brands, one Malaysian brand and two category terms. The Singapore brands are Charles & Keith (accessories) and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup restaurants). The Malaysian brand is OldTown White Coffee. The category terms are "Singapore souvenirs" and "Malaysian white coffee". We also added one control term with no link to the region, "Chilean cherries", to see if a high sponsored share is special to coffee. We searched every term in Chinese, because Chinese users search in Chinese.

The table already shows two useful facts. First, the 429 response at 00:17:49 Singapore time cost nothing, and the same request worked 61 seconds later. The test key for this run had its own low rate limit, which is not the default limit for a normal key. But the prompt must still tell Claude to wait one minute after a 429 and try once more. Without that line, the model can stop or retry too fast.

Second, each search took 3.4 to 7.4 seconds, and only the trending call took 17.1 seconds. A report with 48 calls finishes in a few minutes, so you do not need async mode. Each number in the next sections comes from these 14 raw responses.

What the RedNote API gives a weekly report

Outside China, people call the app RedNote, so English sources often write "RedNote Xiaohongshu API". The EveryInfra RedNote scraper API lists 17 capabilities, and a weekly report needs four of them. We checked each field against the response_fields list in the catalog. The table shows the fields that the report uses and the job of each field.

CapabilityPrice per callFields for the reportJob in the report
xiaohongshu/search$0.005556id, title, text (first 60 characters), like_count, collect_count, comment_count, posted_at, is_cooperation_noteCount posts, add up engagement, split sponsored posts, check dates
xiaohongshu/note$0.005556text (full), tags, topics, share_count, ip_locationAssign the post to a brand, add shares
xiaohongshu/comments$0.005556id, text, like_count, posted_at, ip_location, is_authorIntent and sentiment, remove copies and author replies
xiaohongshu/trending$0.005556id, title, is_videoCheck if the category is on the trending list

Two search parameters matter most. The date_range parameter accepts last_7_days. The sort parameter accepts newest, most_liked, most_commented, most_collected and relevance. The catalog also says that a page with zero results has no charge, and that each page counts as one call. To get the next page, send the next_page_token from the last result. This is call 5 exactly as we sent it. Change the keyword, and you have one row of the weekly report:

bash
curl -s https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $EVERYINFRA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"platform":"xiaohongshu","action":"search",
       "params":{"keyword":"旧街场白咖啡","date_range":"last_7_days","sort":"most_liked"}}'

The response is one JSON object. The results array holds 20 posts, and the billing object shows the charge for the call. The screenshot below keeps only two posts. We masked the author names and cut the text short. The two teal boxes mark the two fields that the report needs most: the sponsored flag and the charge.

Screenshot of a real EveryInfra API response. The top part is the request: November 8, 2026, 00:16 Singapore time, POST /api/v1/social, platform xiaohongshu, action search. The keyword is the Chinese name of OldTown White Coffee, for the last 7 days, sorted by most liked. The middle part is the response: count 20, two posts shown. The first post has 155 likes, 110 saves and 43 comments, and is_cooperation_note true in a teal box. The second post has 75 likes and is_cooperation_note false. Author names are masked. The bottom part is billing: charged true and charged_usd 0.005556 in a teal box.
A real search response with 2 of 20 posts shown and author names masked. EveryInfra API response, November 8, 2026, 00:16 Singapore time

These four capabilities supply all the raw material for the report. Two other capabilities are useful for other jobs. The xiaohongshu/user_posts capability follows the official account of a brand. The xiaohongshu/pgy_content_square capability costs $0.016 per call and shows content from the platform's creator marketplace. That is a different question, so we do not use it here.

How to calculate share of voice: count, engagement and share

The search suggestion "xiaohongshu share of voice calculation" shows that people look for a method. Many tools give one combined index that you cannot check. We split share of voice into three numbers, and each number has a clear sample:

  • Post count: the number of posts about the brand in this week's sample.
  • Engagement: likes plus saves plus comments on those posts. We do not add shares, because the share count in search results is sometimes empty. In this test, 4 of 9 searches had no share count on the full page, and all 4 were sorted by most liked. The other 5 searches had values.
  • Share: the brand's engagement divided by the engagement of all sample posts for the same category term.

Why not report post count only? Because the weight of one post changes a lot. Under "Singapore souvenirs" this week, the top post had 90 likes and the twentieth post had 14 likes. If you count posts only, both posts have the same weight.

Why not report engagement only? Because one viral post can control the number, and you cannot see if people mention the brand all week. When you report both numbers and a share, the reader can see the difference between "many posts that nobody reads" and "one post that went viral".

Write the sample rule into the report and keep it the same every week. Our rule is "last 7 days, most liked, first page of 20 posts". This sample shows the posts that most people saw this week. It does not show all posts. The rule is cheap and stable, and you can compare one week with the next. The cost is that you do not see the long tail. A later section shows that a full count for a popular brand needs 11 pages a week.

This is the result for "Singapore souvenirs" this week. We matched brands on the title and the first 60 characters of text, so each number is a minimum:

Title: BONZ took 11.0% of engagement this week, and Charles & Keith took 0.

The last row is the most important row for a brand owner. Charles & Keith and Song Fa are active on their own brand terms. The top Charles & Keith posts this week had 2,913 engagements in total. But under "Singapore souvenirs", the term that visitors search most, neither brand had a post in the top 20.

The BONZ post went up on November 6, 2026. It shows the airport snack brand at the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which ran in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 (CIIE). One trade show gave one brand a tenth of the engagement under a category term. A weekly report catches this kind of change. A quarterly report misses it.

Sponsored posts: report organic and paid voice in two columns

Each search result has the field is_cooperation_note. It tells you if the platform marked the post as a cooperation post. A cooperation post is a post that a brand paid a creator to publish through the platform. We split the results for 7 terms by this field. The differences are large enough to change the conclusion of a report.

Horizontal bar chart of the share of engagement from sponsored posts in the top 20 posts by likes in the last 7 days for each term: OldTown White Coffee 90.3% in teal, Chilean cherries 72.0%, Malaysian white coffee 67.9%, Singapore souvenirs 11.1%, Charles Keith English name 5.4%, Charles & Keith Chinese nickname 3.3%, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh 0%. Title: Up to 90.3% of a keyword's engagement came from sponsored posts.

The OldTown term returned 6 sponsored posts in 20. These 6 posts are 6 of the top 7 by likes. They have 1,170 engagements, which is 90.3% of the 1,296 on the page.

The content is more surprising. Only 2 of the 6 posts name OldTown in the title or the first 60 characters. The others are lifestyle and career posts, for example a post about a salary that grew from 3,000 a month to 700,000 a year. The coffee appears only in the second half of the text. We read one of these posts with xiaohongshu/note. The full text has 409 characters, names OldTown White Coffee and has 10 topic tags.

Song Fa is the opposite case. Its 20 top posts have zero sponsored posts and 342 engagements, with a median of 8 likes. Almost all posts are travel diaries and order tips from visitors. Three posts show people who cook Song Fa soup at home. Two of them mention spice packs, and one says that the packs came from the airport.

So the spice pack may work as a souvenir. But this week has only one direct example, so watch it for a few weeks before you decide. The brand is also not in the top 20 for "Singapore souvenirs".

Charles & Keith has 1 sponsored post in 20, which is 3.3% of engagement, so most of its voice is organic. If you put the three brands side by side, you cannot say who is louder until you split the sponsored posts.

When we split engagement back into likes, saves and comments, the job of a sponsored post becomes clearer. The control term "Chilean cherries" has 2 sponsored posts, both for new drinks from one tea chain. They took 80.6% of the likes and 82.8% of the saves on the page, but only 16.5% of the comments. Of 266 comments, 222 were under organic posts. One organic post about a hard season for Chilean cherries had 33 likes and 61 comments. On the OldTown term, the sponsored posts took 97.5% of the saves.

So a sponsored post buys attention, but the discussion does not always follow. Our report adds one column to the sponsored part: the share of comments. Look at a competitor with a high share of likes and a low share of comments from sponsored posts. Its campaign buys reach, but people do not talk about it yet. When both shares go up, the campaign starts real interest. This column needs no extra calls, because search already returns all three counts.

There are two reasons to split them. The first reason is the budget. If a report shows total engagement only, a brand that buys 6 sponsored posts this week looks several times louder. The boss then thinks that organic interest grew. The second reason is ad labels in China.

Article 9 of the Measures for the Administration of Internet Advertising says that internet ads must be identifiable as ads. Some posts sell a product through knowledge sharing, experience sharing or a review and add a purchase link. Such posts must show the word "advertisement" in a clear way (full text on the Ministry of Justice website).

In Singapore, the ASAS guidelines cover the same point. If a creator has a commercial relationship with the marketer, the content should show it (ASAS social media guidelines, section 3.1).

Also, a reader of the app may not see the sponsor label. A New Rank report from January 2023 describes a change on January 5, 2023 (New Rank report on Woshipm). Since then, the brand chooses at order time if the label shows, and by default it does not show. So if you count sponsored posts by eye on the page, you can miss some. We did not check if the API flag and the page label always agree.

The report does not decide if a post obeys the law. It only shows how much of your voice, and your competitors' voice, is content that the platform marks as sponsored. This is a data method, not legal advice.

Horizontal bar chart. The page is "Malaysian white coffee": top 20 posts by likes in the last 7 days, 1,723 engagements. It shows OldTown's share with three methods. Title and snippet text match gives 11.1%. Post IDs shared with the brand search give 68.8%. The same without sponsored posts gives 0.9%, in teal. Title: Same page, three answers: OldTown's share is 11.1%, 68.8% or 0.9%.

This gives the three numbers from the start of the article. Under "Malaysian white coffee", method one looks for the brand name in the title and the first 60 characters. It finds 3 posts, 192 engagements and an 11.1% share.

Method two uses post IDs. Seven of the 20 posts also appear in the OldTown brand search, so the platform links them to OldTown. They have 1,186 engagements, which is a 68.8% share.

Method three starts from method two and removes sponsored posts. Six of the 7 posts are sponsored. The one organic post has 16 engagements, which is a 0.9% share.

MethodOldTown postsEngagementShareQuestion it answers

Post IDs shared with the brand search71,18668.8%Your total visibility in the category, paid content included
Same as above, without sponsored posts1160.9%Your organic voice this week

No method is wrong. Each method answers a different question. The report must show all three numbers and use the same methods every week, so that you can see the trend. If you can show only one number, use method three (organic voice) in the main table. Put method two (total visibility) in a second table, and keep method one as a check.

Brand names: the nickname and the English name share 1 post

Most Singapore and Malaysia brands have more than one name on RedNote. Users call CHARLES & KEITH by a Chinese nickname that means "Little CK". On July 22, 2026, the brand named the Chinese actress Zhao Jinmai as its brand ambassador (CHARLES & KEITH press page; SocialBeta). More posts now use the full English name. We searched the nickname and "Charles Keith" with the same filters: last 7 days, most liked, 20 posts each. Only 1 post appeared in both results.

Horizontal bar chart of posts older than 7 days before the call, out of 20 per term: OldTown White Coffee 0, Chilean cherries 0, Malaysian white coffee 0, Singapore souvenirs 0, Charles Keith English name 13 in teal, Charles & Keith Chinese nickname 0, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh 0. Title: Asked for the last 7 days, the English brand name still returned 13 of 20 older posts.

The dates were the bigger surprise. We checked the posted_at field of each post against the 7 days before the call. For "Charles Keith", 13 of 20 posts were older than 7 days, and the oldest post was from January 6, 2025. The 7 posts inside the window had 2,181 engagements, but the full page had 24,432. That is a difference of 11 times.

All 120 posts for the six Chinese terms were inside the window. From outside, we cannot tell why the filter did not work for this English term. The effect on the report is clear, so filter every post again by posted_at. Do not trust the date_range parameter alone. In Claude, this is one line in the prompt, and it costs nothing.

To handle brand names, keep a name list in the project instructions. For each brand, list the Chinese name, the nickname, the English name and common spelling errors. Search each name, merge the results by post ID, and then calculate the share. For Charles & Keith, the list has four entries: the nickname in capitals, the nickname in lower case, "CHARLES & KEITH" and "Charles Keith". Search gives different results for capitals and lower case, so search each one. This is why some of the "5 terms per brand" in the cost section are brand names and not category terms.

Pages and dates: a newest-first page covers only hours

Sometimes you want all posts of the week, not the most-seen posts. Then you sort by newest and read page after page. We read two pages for the Charles & Keith nickname. Page 1 had 20 posts from 16:43 to 23:16 Singapore time on November 7, which is about 6.5 hours. Across both pages, after we removed one old post from November 1 that appeared out of order, 39 posts cover 31.5 hours. That is 1.21 posts per hour, about 203 posts a week, or 11 pages.

Scatter chart. The x-axis shows Singapore time from 15:46 on November 6 to 23:16 on November 7. The y-axis shows likes. Teal dots are posts whose title appears 2 or more times (20 posts), and almost all of them have 0 to 2 likes. Grey diamonds are other posts. One has about 79 likes and one has about 16 likes, and the rest are near 0. Title: Sorted by newest, 40 posts cover only 31.5 hours, and half reuse a title.

The content is more interesting than the count. Of these 40 posts, 20 use only 4 titles. Two titles appear 8 times each, and two titles appear 2 times each. Twenty-five posts carry the same campaign hashtags, and 21 posts have zero likes.

One title says that the author is a store sales assistant. This looks like store staff who post the same copy from a template. The posts are real posts, not fake data. But if a report counts posts only, this template copy doubles the voice of the brand this week.

So the report has one more rule. When posts from the same brand have the same title (spaces and capitals ignored), count them as 1 post. Show the number of copies in a separate column.

That column is also a signal. If a competitor suddenly has many copies of one title, it probably started a store or staff posting campaign. No post ID appeared twice in the 40 posts. So the copies are separate posts with the same content, not a paging error.

Also note that page 2 included one high-like post from November 1 (213 likes), which should appear much later in a newest-first list. Two pages are too small a sample to say that the sort is not strict. The report rule is simple: sort all time counts again by posted_at, and do not trust the order of the response.

How to score sentiment: most comments ask for the price

Most tools tag each comment as positive, neutral or negative and then report the ratio. We read the comments of two posts. For Singapore and Malaysia brands, the three-way method throws away the most useful information.

The first post is the top Charles & Keith post this week. It is an unboxing post from November 1, 2026 with 471 likes, 126 saves and 131 comments. We read two pages of comments, which gave 25 rows. After we removed copies by comment ID, 24 comments remained, because 1 comment appeared on both pages. This matches the catalog note about the default sort.

The catalog says that default is the recommended order of the platform, and that the platform sorts again on each request. Pages can then skip or repeat some comments. So the catalog tells you to read more pages and merge by comment ID (catalog). After we removed 1 comment that the author posted, 23 fan comments remained.

Twenty-one of these 23 comments ask "how much", "is it in stock", "how do I buy it", "how much is the black one" or "is there a sale". One comment says "so pretty", and one says "too bad it does not suit summer".

These 21 questions did not go unanswered. Each comment from the comments capability includes its first replies in sub_comments, and we read all of them. The creator replied under all 21 price questions. Nineteen replies are the same two Chinese characters, which sound like "sent you a DM". One reply says "yes, in stock" and one says "there is also black". No reply gives a price.

We cannot see from public data if the private messages went out or if anyone bought the bag. For a brand, this is more useful than "nobody replied". The top unboxing post sent 21 interested buyers to private chat. The price and the store are not in the public comments.

The platform rules may explain this pattern. The RedNote community rules discourage posts that lead users to personal contact details or to other platforms (RedNote community rules, in Chinese). A NetEase report from September 13, 2026 says that revised rules on traffic diversion took effect on September 18. The new rules also cover group chats, private messages and after-sales (NetEase report, in Chinese). Hints that lead users off the platform can also get a penalty. The earlier rules are in a Jiefang Daily report from March 2025.

We do not say that these replies break any rule. We use them as a signal. Many price questions under your top posts, or under a competitor's top posts, can go to private chat. Then ask if the price and the store should be in the post or in a pinned comment. This is a data method, not legal advice.

The second post is the sponsored OldTown post about an iced cinnamon latte. Nine of the 10 comments on page 1 are short and polite, for example "I want some", "so convenient" and "it smells good". One comment is only "good evening" with three heart emoji. No comment asks for a price, and only one names a flavour: "osmanthus again, my favourite". The creator replied to one comment.

Together, these two posts show two very different comment sections. In one, almost every comment shows buying intent, and the creator sends each buyer to private chat. In the other, people give polite praise and the creator rarely replies.

Stacked horizontal bar chart. Top Charles & Keith post, 23 fan comments: asks price or stock 21 in teal, positive 1, negative 1. Sponsored OldTown post, 10 comments: positive 9, other 1. Title: 21 of 23 comments on the top post ask for the price, and a 3-way sentiment score would call them neutral.

With the three-way method, the Charles & Keith post gets "91% neutral" and the OldTown post gets "90% positive". The report would then say that OldTown has better word of mouth. That is not true. The Charles & Keith comments show many real buyers, and the creator moved all of them to private chat with no public price. The OldTown comments show only polite replies under a sponsored post. So our sentiment column has four classes, and buying intent is its own class:

ClassRule (Chinese comments)Charles & Keith post (23)OldTown sponsored post (10)Use in the report
Buying intentAsks price, stock, link, colour, size or sale210Count, quote 3 comments, tell the brand to reply
PositivePretty, want it, tasty, smells good19Show the ratio
NegativeBroken, fake, bad, average, expensive, not suitable10Quote every one
OtherGreetings, tags of friends, emoji only01Count only

After the rule-based tags, we checked all 33 comments by hand and found one wrong tag. The first rules called "good evening" with heart emoji positive because of the emoji. By the table, a greeting is "other", so we added a greeting rule. The other 32 tags were correct.

The sample is small, and the rules will miss some phrases in other categories, for example the many ways to ask for a link. So add 5 random comments to the end of each report, and let a person check that the rules still work. In October we wrote about how to split a large comment set across Claude Code subagents (Claude Code dynamic workflows for RedNote comments). This weekly report reads only the top posts of each brand, so Claude can read the comments directly inside the scheduled task.

The comments also have the field ip_location, which is useful for a Singapore or Malaysia brand. All 23 fan comments on the Charles & Keith post come from provinces of mainland China, and Guangdong has the most with 9. On the OldTown post, 1 of 10 comments comes from Singapore, 1 comes from South Korea and 8 come from mainland provinces. Ten comments are too few to show the audience mix of a brand. A brand can use this field to see if a post reaches local Chinese speakers, visitors or consumers in mainland China. That is more direct than the audience data that a creator reports.

Limits of search: 60 characters, so read the full post

The phrase "first 60 characters" appears many times above, because it is the most important limit of search. We checked all 180 posts from the 9 searches. The longest text field has 60 characters, and search returns no topic tags. When we read the same OldTown post with xiaohongshu/note, the text has 409 characters, with 10 topic tags and 10 topic objects. This is why text match found only 2 of the 6 sponsored OldTown posts. The brand name often sits in the second half of the text or in the tags.

The post read also shows that the data is live. At 00:16:04 Singapore time, search showed 155 likes, 110 saves and 43 comments for the OldTown post. Thirty-five seconds later, at 00:16:39, the post read showed 156, 111 and 44. For this post, search returned an empty share_count, and the post read showed 20 shares. Put the time of each pull next to each number in the report. Do not mix numbers from different times in one week.

We also tried the trending list once. The xiaohongshu/trending capability returned 20 items about outfits, photo editing, Guangzhou, food in Fuqing and nail salons in Korea. No item was about a Singapore or Malaysia brand or place. For most brands in this region, the trending list is a signal that almost never appears, and it is big news when it does. It is not worth one call every week. Check it once a month, or only in a week with a big launch.

Set it up in Claude: project, scheduled task and remote MCP connector

When the data rules are clear, the Claude side turns them into a task that runs every week. Each feature fact below comes from the Anthropic help center or docs, and we read them on November 8, 2026. We did not create this scheduled task on claude.ai, so the setup parts are configuration examples. Our earlier article, Claude Cowork scheduled tasks for a weekly competitor price table, gives more detail on connectors and team approvals. This section covers only what the share-of-voice report needs.

Screenshot of the section "How scheduled tasks work" on the Claude help center page "Schedule recurring tasks in Claude Cowork". The text says that Claude saves your prompt as the task instructions and runs them at the cadence you choose. The task can use the connectors and plugins that you set up in Cowork, and each run is its own Cowork session. A teal box marks the paragraph about remote runs. Scheduled tasks run even when your computer is asleep or the Claude Desktop app is closed. You can see upcoming and past runs under "Scheduled" in the left sidebar.
Scheduled tasks run in the cloud, so the report runs when your computer is off. Captured November 8, 2026, 00:30 Singapore time. Claude help center screenshot

Scheduled tasks. The help center says that scheduled tasks are available on all paid plans: Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise. A task can use the connectors, skills and plugins that you set up in Cowork. "Weekly reports" is the second item in the list of common uses.

Tasks run remotely, so they run when your computer is asleep. Each run is its own Cowork session (Schedule recurring tasks in Claude Cowork). Since October 6, 2026, all new Cowork tasks on Pro, Max and Ultra plans run in the cloud (Cowork on web and mobile).

Projects. This is the main difference from our competitor price article. That article kept last week's data in Google Sheets. A share-of-voice report fits better in a Claude project.

The help center says that each Cowork project has its own instructions, project scheduled tasks, context and memory. Project memory stays in that project (projects in Cowork). So put the name list, the category terms, the tag rules and last week's results in one project. Each weekly run then starts with this context.

Remote MCP connector. Custom connectors that use remote MCP are open to all plans from Free to Enterprise. The connection starts in the Anthropic cloud and not on your computer (custom connectors using remote MCP). So the MCP server must be reachable from the public internet.

The EveryInfra MCP address is https://api.everyinfra.com/mcp, and it uses an API key. The Anthropic docs say that for a server with an API key, you select "No sign-in" and put the key in a request header. The Free plan allows one custom connector (Add a connector that isn't in the directory). For all steps, see the remote MCP setup guide and the EveryInfra RedNote MCP page.

If your company puts EveryInfra behind its own gateway, allow the Anthropic outbound ranges 160.79.104.0/21 and 153.61.208.0/20. The docs say that Anthropic uses these addresses for MCP tool calls to external servers (Anthropic IP addresses). After you connect, Claude can use the connector when it fits the request. You do not have to name it every time (Use connectors). The Anthropic safety article also tells you to be careful with scheduled tasks, because they run in the cloud (Use Claude Cowork safely). The report only reads data. That is why the first line of our prompt says "read only".

Flow animation with seven boxes that light up in order while a teal dot moves along a dashed line: 1 scheduled task, Mondays 08:00 Singapore time; 2 Claude project, instructions and last report; 3 remote MCP connector, everyinfra_call_api, with a teal border; 4 xiaohongshu/search, 15 calls, 3 brands by 5 terms; 5 note and comments, 15 and 18 calls; 6 compute share, remove copies, split sponsored posts, check dates; 7 weekly report, a table, 3 changes and price questions. The footer says 48 calls a week at $0.005556 each is $0.27.

Team plans need one setting first. The help center says that the organization setting "Allow 'Always allow' for connector tools" is off by default on Team and Enterprise plans. When it is off, only tools that the connector marks as read-only skip approval. Most custom connectors do not mark their tools (Cowork on Team and Enterprise).

On November 8, 2026, we read the EveryInfra MCP tools/list without a key and with no charge. It has 12 tools. The everyinfra_call_api tool has readOnlyHint: false and destructiveHint: true, because it spends money. With default team settings, each call in the report needs a person to approve it. To run the report with no person, an owner of the organization must turn on that setting.

This is the prompt for the project instructions. It puts each rule from the sections above into one list, and Claude follows it every week:

text
You are the RedNote share-of-voice assistant. Read only. Do not post, comment or send messages.
Use only the EveryInfra connector for data.

Run every Monday at 08:00 Singapore time:
1. Read brands.md in the project: name list, competitors and 3 category terms per brand.
2. For each name and term, call everyinfra_call_api with
   platform=xiaohongshu, action=search,
   params={keyword, date_range:"last_7_days", sort:"most_liked"}.
After a 429, wait 60 seconds and try once more. Do not run calls in parallel.
3. Filter again by posted_at. Keep only posts from the 7 days before the run. Merge by post id.
4. Count posts with the same title (spaces and case ignored) as 1 post. Report the copies.
5. For the top 5 posts per brand by engagement, call action=note. Use full text and tags to assign the brand.
6. For the top 3 posts per brand by comments, call action=comments for 2 pages.
Merge by comment id, drop is_author=true, tag as buying intent / positive / negative / other.
7. Output a table: brand x posts, engagement and share, each split into organic and sponsored.
Compare with last_week.md. Write 3 changes. Quote 3 buying-intent comments.
8. Put the pull time next to each number. Write this week's results to last_week.md.

This is one round trip. Inside the task, the model sends an MCP tools/call request. The arguments are the same body as our REST request:

json
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":7,"method":"tools/call",
 "params":{"name":"everyinfra_call_api",
           "arguments":{"platform":"xiaohongshu","action":"search",
                        "params":{"keyword":"旧街场白咖啡","date_range":"last_7_days","sort":"most_liked"}}}}

The tools/list description of this tool says that it returns the same content as the REST response in the screenshot. That is count 20, the is_cooperation_note flag on each post, and billing.charged_usd 0.005556. The MCP specification puts tool results in a content array for the model (MCP specification: Tools). We did not send a call through MCP in this test, so we did not see this response. We wrote this request from the inputSchema in tools/list, so it is a configuration example. The tools/list read itself is real and from November 8.

The cost: 3 brands and 5 terms each

The cost has two parts. EveryInfra charges per call, and Claude charges a plan fee. Each call costs $0.005556 at catalog price, and failed or empty calls cost nothing (the 429 in our test cost nothing). We convert weeks to months with 52/12 weeks a month.

Horizontal bar chart of monthly cost: search only, 15 calls a week, $0.36; recommended, 48 calls a week, $1.16 in teal; full paging, 81 calls a week, $1.95; Claude Pro plan as a reference, $20.00. Title: 3 brands by 5 keywords: API cost is $1.16 a month, and the Claude plan is the big line.

On the Claude side, scheduled tasks need a paid plan. Pro costs $20 a month with monthly billing, or $17 a month with annual billing. The pricing page lists "Hand off and schedule tasks" for Pro and higher plans. The Free plan allows up to 5 projects (Claude pricing, read on November 8, 2026).

Scheduled tasks use the usage limits of your plan. The pricing page says that limits reset every 5 hours and every week. The model, the chat length and the file size control how fast you reach them (How usage limits work). One 48-call report a week puts little load on Pro. An agency that runs reports for 10 clients from one account should look at Max or a team plan.

For one brand, the full monthly cost is about $21, and the API part is less than 6%. For an agency, the API cost grows with each client at about $1.16 a month, and the Claude plan cost is shared. The EveryInfra pricing page lists all prices. To check that failed calls have no charge, see failure refund reconciliation.

What the report looks like: one week of real data

This is a sample report for the recommended plan. We filled it by hand with this week's real data, and Claude produces the same format every week. We show only the brands that we called. The competitor rows are empty.

BrandSamplePosts (merged)Organic engagementSponsored engagementTemplate copiesBuying-intent commentsChange this week
Charles & KeithNickname, 7 days, most liked202,8189520 of 40 on 2 newest pages21 of 23Top unboxing post: almost all comments ask for the price. The creator sent 19 to private chat with no public price

OldTown White CoffeeBrand name, 7 days, most liked201261,170Not paged0 of 1090.3% of engagement from 6 sponsored posts. Organic share in the category is 0.9%

The last column is the real value of the report. The numbers change every week. Each of the three sentences in that column leads to one action.

First, put the price and the store in the post or a pinned comment. Second, add the spice pack to the souvenir content plan. But watch it for a few weeks first, because this week has only one direct example. Third, check the return on sponsored posts. These actions need no data team. They need one person who reads the report every Monday.

Limits and cautions

First, the sample is small. We took one page of 20 posts for each term and read the comments of two posts. All results apply only to November 1 to 7, 2026, and only to these terms. They show that the choice of method can change a result by a factor of 70. They do not show the full RedNote voice of OldTown or Charles & Keith.

We also looked at one platform only. You can use the same share method on Douyin search results with the Douyin scraper API. But you must split paid content with the Douyin flags, and we did not test that.

Second, brand assignment has errors. Text match misses posts that name the brand only in the second half of the text or in tags. Shared post IDs include posts that the platform links to the brand even when the user does not name it. A full post read with xiaohongshu/note is the most accurate method, but each post costs one more call. The recommended plan reads only the top 5 posts per brand and uses the first two methods for the rest.

Third, "sponsored" means the is_cooperation_note flag from the platform. The flag cannot find paid posts that did not go through the platform cooperation process. The report can show "posts that the platform marks as sponsored", but not "all paid content".

Fourth, personal data. Comments and posts include nicknames and IP regions. Article 27 of the Personal Information Protection Law of China covers information that a person made public or that is lawfully public (full text). The law allows processing within a reasonable scope, unless the person clearly refuses.

Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission explains how the PDPA treats publicly available data (PDPA overview). It also published guidance on personal data in generative AI on July 20, 2026 (PDPC press release). The report shows counts and comment quotes without nicknames. It does not export profiles or describe any one person. This is a data method, not legal advice.

Fifth, we did not test the Claude side. Projects, scheduled tasks, connectors and team approvals are configuration examples from the Anthropic help center and docs. We could not check if a task on a Team plan with default settings stops at approval or skips the call.

Recent changes

  • November 5 to 10, 2026: the 9th CIIE ran in Shanghai (CIIE). The organizers published the dates when visitor registration opened on September 9 (CIIE notice; Chinese Consulate General in Belfast). On November 7, the People's Daily reported on Malaysian durian and charcoal-roasted coffee at the CIIE (People's Daily Online). The products were at the stand of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, and many came from small firms. What it means for you: in a trade-show week, category voice goes up, so add a note to that week's report.
  • October 24, 2026: Enterprise Singapore shared a report that says the China market is harder than before (Enterprise Singapore). What it means for you: budgets are tighter, so it is more important to split organic and paid voice.
  • October 12, 2026: the Langkawi Development Authority launched an official RedNote account in Beijing (Bernama; TTR Weekly). The launch was part of a four-city China roadshow from October 12 to 19. What it means for you: Malaysian places and brands now treat RedNote as a main channel, so you have more competitors under each category term.

FAQ

The questions come from search suggestions that we checked on November 8, 2026 ("xiaohongshu share of voice calculation", "xiaohongshu api for developers free", "xiaohongshu agency singapore" and a Chinese suggestion about cooperation notes) and from one Reddit post.

How do you calculate xiaohongshu share of voice?

Use three numbers that you can check: post count, engagement and share. Show each in an organic column and a sponsored column. Write the method into the report and keep it the same every week. The section "How to calculate share of voice" above gives the full method.

Is there a free xiaohongshu api for developers?

We compare the official platform, open-source scripts and pay-per-call APIs in How to choose a RedNote API. To keep history and compare weeks, see RedNote data analysis with exports and snapshots. GitHub has free open-source scrapers, for example xiaohongshu-scraper, but you must maintain the login and handle blocks yourself. A pay-per-call API costs $0.005556 per call, and failed calls cost nothing.

How can I tell if a RedNote post is sponsored?

The simple method is the is_cooperation_note field in the API response. It is the platform's own flag, and both search and post reads return it. This week, our 7 terms with 20 posts each had 19 flagged posts when we count each term on its own. Six of them appear on both the OldTown and the "Malaysian white coffee" pages. The flag finds only posts that went through the platform cooperation process.

Does a Singapore brand need an agency for RedNote?

For the weekly report, no. You need 48 calls, one Claude project and one scheduled task. A marketing person can read the result every Monday. Content plans, creator deals and replies to comments are a different job. Whether you need an agency for that job depends on whether your team has people who write Chinese content. Agencies can also use this method to give each client a report that anyone can check, for about $1.16 a month in API cost.

Can I use a free open-source command-line tool instead?

A Reddit post describes an open-source tool that reads several platforms, RedNote included, with "zero API fees, zero accounts, zero keys" (r/MCPservers post). For personal research, you can try it. For a weekly report, think about two points. Claude scheduled tasks run in the cloud, and a connector can only use an MCP address on the public internet. So a tool on your laptop cannot connect, unless you run it on a machine that is always on. Also, the fields must stay the same each week, and a person must find and fix login failures or page changes.

Get started

  1. Get an API key in the quickstart. Send the curl request above once and check that you get 20 posts.
  2. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors and add EveryInfra with the configuration example above. Use the MCP address https://api.everyinfra.com/mcp.
  3. Create a new project in Cowork. Put the name list brands.md and the prompt above into the project instructions. Projects are changing. The help center says that the move keeps instructions, files and scheduled tasks (What are projects?).
  4. Create a scheduled task in the project. Type /schedule in a task or open "Scheduled" in the left sidebar (Get started). In the new unified view, you can also set it in a chat (Cowork and chat; Assign tasks). Click "Run now" once and check the approvals and the output format.
  5. When the first report is ready, check the sample and the methods against the "Limits and cautions" section. Then send it to your boss.
