Research what people complain about on Reddit for a product or topic keyword. One summary row gives the posts and comments read, negative and positive comment counts, the most repeated pain and praise words and the communities involved, followed by the top posts and the most upvoted negative comments in full. Pain and praise are decided by a word list, so treat the counts as rough signals. limit sets how many posts are analyzed (2 to 15).

Price $72 per 1,000 requests ($0.072 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.

AI prompt

Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.

Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Reddit Painpoint endpoint (reddit/painpoint).

How the endpoint works:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to reddit and action to painpoint, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
  - keyword: A product or topic to research, such as standing desk. It is used to find Reddit discussions whose comments are then analyzed; it is not a comment search.
- Optional parameters:
  - sort: How the discussions to analyze are picked: relevance (default), popular, top, newest or most_commented. Try top when a narrow keyword returns nothing. (allowed: most_commented / newest / popular / relevance / top)
  - limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 15. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 5)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: row_type (Row kind (painpoint): summary (one per…), posts_scanned (Discussions found for the keyword and l…), posts_analyzed (Discussions whose comments were read an…), comments_collected (Comments counted (painpoint summary row)), negative_comment_count (Comments judged negative (painpoint sum…), positive_comment_count (Comments judged positive by the same wo…), pain_keywords (Words repeated most in negative comment…), praise_keywords (Words repeated most in positive comment…), communities (Subreddits the discussions came from, w…), id, title, url; 18 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=reddit.
- Example request body:
{
  "platform": "reddit",
  "action": "painpoint",
  "params": {
    "keyword": "standing desk"
  }
}
- Price: $72 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.

Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.

Response fields

Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.

FieldMeaning
row_typeRow kind (painpoint): summary (one per call), post (a discussion analyzed) or pain_comment (one of the most upvoted negative comments, in full).
posts_scannedDiscussions found for the keyword and looked at (painpoint summary row).
posts_analyzedDiscussions whose comments were read and counted (painpoint summary row), at most limit.
comments_collectedComments counted (painpoint summary row); only top-level comments of those discussions are read.
negative_comment_countComments judged negative (painpoint summary row). A word list decides: negative words and no positive ones. A rough count, not a dissatisfaction rate.
positive_comment_countComments judged positive by the same word list (painpoint summary row); a rough count.
pain_keywordsWords repeated most in negative comments, each with word and count, most frequent first (painpoint summary row). Plain word frequency, so common words such as any or it's can appear; not a curated list of problems.
praise_keywordsWords repeated most in positive comments, each with word and count, most frequent first (painpoint summary row).
communitiesSubreddits the discussions came from, without the r/ prefix (painpoint summary row).
platformSource platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok).
idThe record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms.
titleTitle. null when the platform has no titles (for example text-only posts).
urlLink to the record on the platform.
communityKeeps the platform's own meaning
like_countLikes. null means the platform or this capability does not disclose it; it is not 0.
comment_countComments. null means not disclosed, not 0.
textBody text with HTML removed, returned in full and never cut short (on a few platforms the list results themselves carry only an excerpt; the platform's field notes say so).
author_usernameAuthor's username (@handle), usually usable in URLs.
post_titleTitle of the post the comment was left on (user_comments; painpoint pain_comment rows).
