Monid: Tool Router for AI Agents
Monid is a tool router for AI agents. An agent describes what it needs in plain language, Monid finds endpoints in its catalog that fit, and the agent runs one of them. Every call is paid from one prepaid balance. Monid calls itself "the OpenRouter for agent tools": a model router sends model calls to many model services, and Monid does the same for the tool calls that an agent makes after the model has decided what to do.
What Monid offers
The facts below come from the Monid website, its llms.txt file, its agent skill file and its MCP quickstart. We read them on November 3, 2026. Check the Monid website for current terms.
| Item | What Monid states |
|---|---|
| Catalog | 2,800+ tools on the homepage on November 3, 2026, found at run time with discover |
| Billing | One prepaid balance, pay per call, no subscription and no monthly minimum; new accounts start with $1 in free credit |
| Prices | Most endpoints carry a "0 Markup" tag, which means you pay the tool's standard rate with no platform fee on top |
| Ways to connect | Remote MCP server at https://mcp.monid.ai/v1 with OAuth sign-in, an agent skill file, a CLI (npm install -g @monid-ai/cli) and a REST API at https://api.monid.ai |
| Open source | The project is on GitHub under the MIT license; tool makers can add their own tools to it |
The workflow has three steps. discover is a free search over the catalog in plain language: it returns ranked endpoints with a price and a health status for each one. inspect is also free and returns the input schema and the current price of one endpoint. run is the only step that costs money: it is billed at the price that inspect shows. While a run is in progress, Monid holds the estimated cost on the balance and settles it to the actual amount when the run ends.
The catalog covers web search, page scraping, browser automation, people and company data, social platform data (including Chinese platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Weibo and Bilibili), maps and local reviews, e-commerce, jobs, finance, news, weather, and image, video, music and speech generation. Monid says it is focused on reading and fetching data, not on writing into other apps.
Who it is for
- Agent builders who want the agent to pick a tool when the task comes in, instead of setting up one vendor for each job in advance.
- Teams that need many data sources now and then. One balance replaces a separate sign-up, key and monthly plan for each source that the agent calls a few times a month.
- Users of Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex and OpenCode. The MCP quickstart gives the setup steps for each of these clients.
- Tool makers who want agents to find their endpoints, by adding a connector to the open-source project.
Using Monid with EveryInfra
The two services do different jobs for the same agent:
- Monid routes the long tail. For a one-off lookup, a platform the agent has never used, or a tool that is not data at all (weather, geocoding, image generation), the agent searches Monid, reads the price and pays for that one call.
- EveryInfra serves the daily jobs. One API key returns structured JSON from public pages on 106 platforms (569 capabilities in the live catalog on November 3, 2026), for example the Xiaohongshu data API, the Douyin data API and the Amazon data API. Each capability has fixed field names and a fixed price, starting at $0.56 per 1,000 calls. Failed or empty calls are not charged. See pricing.
Monid's own agent skill gives the same split: if the user already has a dedicated MCP server or API key for a service, the agent should use it directly and not route the request through Monid. So connect the EveryInfra MCP server and Monid to the same client, and give the agent a rule: the platforms in the EveryInfra catalog go to EveryInfra, and everything else goes through Monid.
We tested this setup on November 3, 2026. A short Python script called EveryInfra xiaohongshu/search for one keyword (20 notes, $0.005556) and then ran discover, inspect and run on Monid for a company-logo lookup. The script and the routing rule are in Use with Monid in our docs.
