Tencent WorkBuddy MCP: RedNote, Douyin, JD and TikTok Data

Connect EveryInfra to Tencent WorkBuddy and ask for RedNote, Douyin, JD, 1688 and TikTok data in plain language. Real timings, setup, errors and costs.

Illustration: a monitor on the left shows an assistant chat with a neat table. A row of connector modules plugs into its right side, one large teal module and several small ones. Each sends a thin line to a platform block: a short video, a photo note, a shopping cart, wholesale boxes on a pallet, a price tag and a trending chart with a flame.

To ask Tencent WorkBuddy for public data from Xiaohongshu (RedNote), Douyin, JD, Taobao, 1688 or TikTok, add the EveryInfra connector, enter your EveryInfra API key, and ask in plain language: "Show today's top 30 on the Douyin trending list" or "Find canvas tote bag suppliers on 1688 with price and minimum order." You do not log in to any of those platforms. You pay per call, and failed calls and empty results are free.

Listing status (at the time of writing): We prepared 7 EveryInfra connectors for the WorkBuddy connector marketplace in China. They wait for the developer identity check and review, so they are not in the marketplace yet. Until then, you can use the same remote MCP server from Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients, or call the HTTP API shown below with the same key.

In the early hours of October 22, 2026 (Singapore time) we sent the connectors' example prompts to the live service as direct calls. Douyin trending (30 topics) took 11.67 seconds and cost $0.000556. A JD search (5 products) took 29.25 seconds and cost $0.001389. A 1688 supplier search (5 offers) took 8.80 seconds and cost $0.001389. These times are data-service times; WorkBuddy's model adds its own thinking time.

Why WorkBuddy users ask for China platform data

WorkBuddy is Tencent's desktop agent for office work. Tencent describes it as an agent that "brings AI into the files and apps you already use", and it reaches outside services through connectors or MCP (Tencent). Many of its users sell on or buy from Chinese platforms: they compare JD prices, look for 1688 suppliers, and watch what trends on Douyin and RedNote. The built-in connectors cover tools like Notion, GitHub, Canva and Feishu (WorkBuddy connector list), not these platforms. An MCP server fills that gap.

In one sentence: EveryInfra in WorkBuddy is a remote MCP server; WorkBuddy calls it with your API key, the AI asks for a platform and a capability, gets structured public data, and each call is charged to your EveryInfra balance.

Illustration: a desktop computer on the left with a small locked safe holding a key, meaning the key is stored locally. A teal arrow carries an envelope with a key badge straight to a cloud server on the right, and another arrow brings back a table card and a bar chart card. Above, a dashed gray line through a separate pale cloud shows the path that is not used.
How the connector uses your key: it stays on your computer, goes into the request header, and the data service sends structured results straight back.

The 7 connectors (China app, after review)

These are the 7 connectors we prepared. After review, create an API key at everyinfra.com (quickstart), add a connector from Experts · Skills · Connectors → Connectors, click "+", and paste your key in the "Connect EveryInfra" form. Then ask a free question first: "What RedNote data can EveryInfra get?" If the AI lists capabilities, the connection works.

ConnectorTools for the AIWhat it covers
EveryInfra (main)3: list capabilities, call data, web search106 platforms including RedNote, Douyin, Taobao, JD, TikTok and Amazon, plus 17 search tools
EveryInfra RedNote2: list capabilities, call dataNote search, note detail, comments and replies, user search, profiles and posts, topics, trending
EveryInfra Douyin2Video search, video detail and transcript, comments, profiles, trending, creator search and analytics, product search
EveryInfra Taobao2Product search, product detail, reviews
EveryInfra JD2Product search, product detail, all SKUs and prices, description images
EveryInfra 16882Supplier search, product detail, image search for the same product
EveryInfra TikTok2Video search, video detail and transcript, comments, profiles, hashtags, shop products and creators

Each connector includes skill files that tell the AI which capabilities exist, how to fill parameters and how to report the charge. The main connector has 16 skills; each single-platform connector has 1. All files are in our GitHub repository. WorkBuddy's open platform documents this "MCP + Skill" design and the user-entered key form; per that doc, the key stays on your computer and goes into the request header at connect time (WorkBuddy open platform, in Chinese). The connectors need WorkBuddy 4.24.0 or later.

Screenshot, in Chinese, of the user-entered token section on the Connectors page of WorkBuddy's open platform docs. The teal box says that when a service only offers a personal access token or API key, the connector uses auth_mode "token": WorkBuddy shows a form to collect the credential, stores it only on the user's computer, injects it at connect time, never sends it through the cloud, and opens no browser. The table below shows that for sse or streamableHttp servers the credential goes in the headers or URL, for example "Authorization": "Bearer ${API_KEY}".

Test 1: the free capability list

At 02:44 on 2026-10-22 (UTC+8) we called everyinfra_list_capabilities for xiaohongshu. It answered in 0.25 seconds with all platform names and RedNote's 11 capabilities, parameters and prices. It costs nothing and needs no key.

Test 2: the connectors' example prompts as real calls

Same session, with a test key:

ConnectorExample promptCallTimeResultCharge
RedNote"Show what is trending on RedNote now"xiaohongshu / trending, limit 1014.07 s10 trending notes with title, author, video flag and link$0.005556
Douyin"Show today's top 30 on Douyin trending"douyin / trending, limit 3011.67 s30 topics, 29 with a heat value; rank, keyword, heat, related video count, event time$0.000556
JD"Search JD for mechanical keyboards, list price and shop"jd / search, limit 529.25 s5 products from ¥129 to ¥560; 3 of the shops are JD self-operated flagship stores$0.001389

TikTok"Search TikTok for popular portable blender videos"tiktok / search, limit 59.74 s5 videos with 2,491 to 1,000,000 views and 20 to 14,000 likes$0.000556
Taobao"Search Taobao for camping chairs, list price and shop"taobao / search, keyword "camping chair" (sent in Chinese), limit 510.69 s5 products: 4 folding, moon or fishing chairs and 1 low camping stool; ¥5.95 to ¥81$0.001389

We measured the Taobao row later, at 18:31 on October 24, 2026 (Singapore time), over MCP. api-cn.everyinfra.com and api.everyinfra.com returned the same 5 products and charged $0.001389 each (the price at the time of writing; since 2026-10-28 taobao/search costs $0.0135 per call, $13.50 per 1,000, and the Taobao row above is the same). A second keyword, "portable coffee maker" (also sent in Chinese), returned coffee gear only: grinders, hand-crank coffee mills and milk frothers. The other rows are from October 22. A RedNote trending recheck on October 24 took 49.67 s, returned 10 notes and cost $0.005556.

Screenshot of one real EveryInfra request and response on October 25 through the mainland China endpoint: POST https://api-cn.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with platform alibaba1688, action search, the keyword for canvas tote bag in Chinese and limit 5. The response is 200 in 12.19 s with 5 results and a charge of $0.001389. Two offers are shown with a shortened Chinese title, a starting price of 1.42 and 0.38 yuan, a minimum order of 1 on the second, sales text of 17,000+ and 100,000+ units, repurchase rate, a location in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, and the supplier company name. The other 3 results are collapsed.

Three tips from these runs:

  1. RedNote trending returns popular notes from the discovery feed, not only notes posted today. For notes posted this week, use keyword search with date_range.
  2. Ask for a fixed number of products. "List the top 5" comes back faster and is easier to check than "list every mechanical keyboard."
  3. Prices differ by platform. RedNote costs $0.005556 per call; Douyin and TikTok $0.000556; JD and 1688 $0.001389; Taobao search $0.0135 since 2026-10-28 (it was $0.001389). Ten RedNote calls cost as much as one hundred Douyin calls.

Test 3: mistakes are free

We misspelled JD search's parameter as keywrd. In 0.25 seconds the service returned missing_param: keyword is required, keywrd is not a parameter here, followed by a working example request and "Nothing was charged." A call without a key returns unauthorized, also free. The AI reads these messages and retries with the fix.

Errors and charges

CaseWhat you seeCharged
No key or wrong keyunauthorized, with a sign-up link; "Nothing was charged"No
Low balanceA message to top up in the consoleNo
Wrong or missing parameterunknown_param or missing_param, with the correct name and often a working exampleNo

Cost example: a daily product scan for a month

A cross-border seller asks WorkBuddy once a day for:

  • Douyin trending, 1 call: $0.000556
  • RedNote trending, 1 call: $0.005556
  • 1688 search, 10 keywords: 10 × $0.001389 = $0.01389
  • JD search, 10 keywords: 10 × $0.001389 = $0.01389
  • TikTok search, 10 keywords: 10 × $0.000556 = $0.00556

That is about $0.039 a day, or $1.18 for 30 days, for EveryInfra data. WorkBuddy's own model credits are separate. Failed calls and empty results are free. Prices from the live capability catalog, read on 2026-10-22 at 02:18 (UTC+8); the pricing page is the reference.

FAQ

Do I need RedNote, Douyin or JD accounts? No. You need only an EveryInfra API key. EveryInfra reads public data.

Does the data come back in Chinese? Yes. Titles, captions and comments arrive as they appear on the platform. Ask WorkBuddy to translate or summarize them; numbers and field names stay the same.

Why does the marketplace connector show only 2 or 3 tools? The connector gives the AI only the tools it needs to look up data. You manage your balance and keys in the everyinfra.com console.
